Proposed exhibition poster for the ICA’s show Beyond Infinity.
Yayoi Kusama’s works and those inspired by them have motifs of repetition and attempting to understand infinity. The poster was developed with the idea of conveying both infinity and reflection visually through type.
After conducting research, prototypes of the poster were created, experimenting with different ways to depict reflection and continuity.
Through critique and iteration, simplifying the central idea made the poster much more effective. The resulting work references and reflects the work of Yayoi Kusama as well as the core ideas of infinity and reflection.
